They are back!

The dragonflies are back.  They make me smile.  I haven’t started taking pictures yet.  My camera quality is a bit embarrassing.  I picked this one from the internet.  : (

It took Spring a long time to get here, but it is making up for it now.  I put a hummingbird feeder out and there was one within five minutes.  The frogs, toads, skinks, and snakes are out.  I have seen some turtles basking, but I haven’t had to move any off the road yet.

The daffodils are beautiful this year and my perennials are coming up.  The trees are starting to get leaves and the dogwoods are just beginning to bloom.  I try not to complain about Winter, but I am ready for Spring!

The Amazing SpiderMom

I’ve said it before, but I really like the way spiders take care of their babies.  Hurricane Florence missed us, but others were not so fortunate.  I think the deer flies may finally be gone!  Knock on wood.

And half conceal the Soul within.” ~Alfred Lord Tennyson ~

Start out small.

Kind of like the time it takes for radioactive decay?  8^)

I like snails and this one likes goldenrod.  The crab spider is so little!  It likes the hummingbird mint.  Both are patient with the process of life.

There are no honeybees here this summer.  It was a bad winter for the hives.

The Fog

“We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.” ~Oscar Wilde~ (and The Pretenders)

It is so hot and humid that when I take my camera outside the lens fogs.  I was so glad to see the hummingbird moth that I forgot to check it before I took a picture.  It usually only visits the bee balm when I don’t have my camera with me. :^(   So this would have been a good picture with the moth and the bumble bee, but it’s foggy.  I think it has it’s own unique appeal though.  What do you think?

I did get a better picture when I cleaned the lens with my shirt.  (I be all of you real photographers are cringing right now.)

Of course the dragonflies are busy with the mosquitoes in my garden.  Thank you dragonflies!
