Is it Spring yet?

DSC07790“The invariable mark of wisdom is to see the miraculous in the common.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

One paperwhite, one dwarf iris, one yellow crocus.  The daffodils are coming up, but no blooms yet.  It won’t be long!  I’m looking forward to green again.  And dragonflies.

That is most difficult.” William Butler Yeats

Haikus:

Vultures in the sky.

Cloudless day for flying low.

Black against the blue.

A monarch flew by.

Why is it here in the cold?

Please find your way homeward soon.

It is hard to believe it has been two months since the monarchs emerged.

Chill

“Gie me a spark o’ nature’s fire,

That’s a’ the learning I desire.” ~Robert Burns ~

Again, this is not one of my pictures.  I think it is beautiful.  Dragonflies and spiders – what could be better?!  It’s like getting peanut butter in my chocolate!

Cooler weather is here.  That’s good and bad.  I don’t have to sweat every time I walk out the door, but I will miss the summer insects, spiders, and plants.  I find them to be amazing.  At least I can look forward to the spring.

Dragons that Fly

“Most human beings have an absolute and infinite capacity for taking things for granted.” ~ Aldous Huxley ~

This is not one of my pictures.  Pretty.  I can’t recall ever having seen one like this.

We got through Hurricane/Tropical Storm Michael.  We had no power for a couple of days, but I won’t complain about that considering what others have dealt with recently.  I try not to take things for granted and to be grateful for what I do have.  Things can be better, but they can also be worse.  It can be hard to remember that sometimes.  Gratitude journals do help you refocus on what is important.
